Accutan 20 is a retinoid utilized for managing severe acne. It contains Isotretinoin, which is a structural analog of vitamin A. Due to its similar structure to vitamin A, it shares comparable therapeutic properties.
Always take Accutan 20 with a full glass of water to avoid the capsule melting in your esophagus (food pipe), which can lead to irritation. Do not chew or suck on the capsule; swallow it as quickly as possible. It's recommended to take Accutan with food or milk. Initially, your acne may appear to worsen, but it should start to improve thereafter. To ensure that Accutan 20 is not causing any adverse effects, you may need to have your blood tested regularly, and your liver function may also need to be monitored.
Avoid taking vitamin supplements that contain vitamin A and refrain from consuming alcohol and smoking while receiving this treatment. Older adults may be more prone to experiencing side effects from this medication.
Accutan 20 should not be prescribed to individuals who have shown hypersensitivity to it. Possible side effects include drowsiness, constipation, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin rashes.
